Description
Lift’s thirty-five year track record proves that people who have disabilities can be long-term, highly valued and very competitive employees. Like all potential high performers they are worth an investment in recruitment, evaluation, and development.
1. Project Plan
Lift management works with corporate client management to develop project objectives. Potential job assignments are identified and unique recruitment criteria defined.
2. Candidate Recruitment and Qualification
Recruitment
Lift has a very broad base of referral sources – colleges and universities, state/federal vocational rehabilitation and employment agencies, rehabilitation hospitals, veterans’ organizations, independent living centers, advocacy and affinity groups, community service groups, corporate clients and their families, disability networks, organizations for IT professionals who have disabilities, service organizations, Ticket to Work (a Social Security Administration program), physicians, rehabilitation counselors and social workers, professionals placed through Lift, etc. Applicants and referral sources read about Lift in disability and business publications, and find Lift through online resources and networking. Lift has an outstanding reputation in the disability community.
In addition to engaging the rehabilitation/disability and educational communities, Lift may employ publicity directed toward local general media.

Lift’s rigorous candidate qualification process is key to our success.
3. Contract Employment
The third phase lasts for a minimum of twelve months. Lift hires the accepted candidate and places him or her with the client as a full-time contractor. Lift provides process management, supervision, and comprehensive support, including ongoing accommodation assessment, skills development, and appraisal. Lift’s goal is to ensure that every employee is able to function at his or her personal maximum productivity level.
The contract approach provides the corporate client with a low-risk opportunity to work with candidates who have excellent skills and potential but might not have been hired through the usual channels.
4. Placement
The client is invited to hire the candidate(s) directly at the conclusion of the contract period. Often this event is accompanied by an agreement to start additional candidates. Many corporations have successfully worked with Lift on several projects after having experienced a profitable outcome from the first.
Direct Placement for Highly Experienced Professionals:
In addition to offering our traditional “Right to Hire” program, Lift offers corporate clients who are seeking experienced professionals a direct recruitment and placement option.
